Division Inns is the name we use to market our two Guesthouses, the Bluebird and the Evermore.  They are about a 1/4 mile from each-other, a short walk through our beautiful neighborhood.

 

Rooms-   Our guest rooms all have luxury mattress', modern windows, insulated walls and carpeting.  We do not automatically service guest rooms while you are checked-in, however should anything need attention or replenishment just let us know and we will happily take care of it!  Simple yet attentive.....

 

Bathrooms-  All of our rooms have private bathrooms, 4 of them are en-suite while 2 of them have bathrooms accessed via the hallway.  All are equipped with towels, shampoo/soap combos, robes and hairdryers.  Water pressure is great and the hot water lasts for as long as you need it ~

 

Room Heat & A/C-  All guest rooms have in-room heating controls, all but the Gao Xingjian and the Elliott Smith rooms have window a/c units in the summer.

Minimum age for children to stay is 6 years old.  We love kids but younger ones tend to have a harder time understanding noise level etiquette.  Kids of all ages are of course welcome to visit during the day!

2nd Bed-  Upon request we can have a twin mattress brought into the Beverly Cleary, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ken Kesey, & Elliott Smith Rooms.  Please arrange with us at least a day ahead of your arrival.

Holidays-  We are open everyday.  However, certain holidays you need to check-in beforehand & check-out afterwards: Fourth of July, Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve/Christmas.  This is known as a stay-thru.

Groups-  We have a 2 room per party limit... apologies but we do not accept group reservations as we have found that vacation rentals are more suited for them.  We ask, too, that you not try to get around this by booking rooms separately.

Weddings / Events-  Unfortunately due to city code we are unable to host weddings or events here.

Check-In / Out-  Rooms are ready by 3pm, early arrivals are welcome to use our common rooms or drop luggage off, and late arrivals are fine.  Room check-out is by 12 noon, you are welcome to relax in the social rooms for the afternoon and we can store your luggage for the day.

The Continental Breakfast is ready when you are, no having to work with our schedule!  What is offered: strong coffee, tea, dairy/plant milks, orange juice & hot chocolate, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, locally made bagels & bread with an assortment of spreads; pastries, fruit, muffins, cereals, oatmeal, breakfast bars and nuts.  Our bagels are vegan, and gluten-free options are available, too.  There are a few great cafes in the neighborhood that serve up choice breakfasts, if you are so inclined.

Kitchen-  Yes, there is a full kitchen that you are welcome to cook in & prepare meals, as well as storage and a fridge.  We ask that you leave the space clean when you are finished.

Wi-Fi & Communications-  Reliable & free high speed wi-fi throughout the property!  A guest phone is available if needed.  Or perhaps crack open a book from the shelves.

Laundry-  Complimentary laundry machines are open 4-10pm everyday, and an iron/board are available are available.

Parking is on the street and you can block the guesthouse driveway to check-in & out; afterwards there is free, 24-hour parking either out front or on the side streets. Be prepared to possibly walk a few blocks from your parking spot - neighborhood restaurants are popular attractions.  Bicycle parking is available in the basement via a side door.

 

Accessibility-  Due to the historic nature of the Guesthouse all rooms require climbing stairs to get to them - there are no elevators.

Locale-  We are a 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown and City Bus 2 stops 1 block away.  The Division / Clinton is a lovely neighborhood to walk and bicycle around in - a nationally acclaimed restaurant scene, boutique shops, cafes, friendly people and beautiful gardens.

No's-  No pets / animals and no smoking on the property.  Also we do not have televisions, although with our fast wi-fi you can stream easily on your devices.

Lodging Taxes are 16% + $4 per night, not included in the rates.  The breakdown: 1.5% State of Oregon, 5.5% Multnomah County, 6% City of Portland, 3% Portland Tourism Improvement District, $4 per night fee to the City of Portland which is called the 'Portland Affordable Housing Fee'.
